Scope of application

Defining the scope of application of HA’s quality, environment and energy management systems

1. Purpose

The scope of application described here is based on existing management standards as they relate to product conformity, energy and environmental impact. These determine the scope of the requirements to be met by the interested parties and those arising from internal and external issues, as well as the scope of risk and opportunity assessments for the individual processes and locations.

2. Applicability

HA’s integrated management system applies to the company’s German sites. The management standards applicable to the respective sites are shown in Table 1, which also serves as a basis to determine the scope of the respective requirements to be fulfilled by each site.

• Services provided by the Center of Competence

• Consulting and development services in the form of

  1. Simulations for core shooting and casting processes

Organisational scope of application:

The scope of application includes external and internal issues and the requirements of interested parties, as previously identified for our integrated management system in the section “Context of the organisation”.

The scope of application for the products manufactured in-house includes the procurement of raw materials, the manufacture of the products, their use by our customers and the disposal/whereabouts of the product after its use insofar as this falls within the scope of our influence. The scope of application in terms of trading goods and/or materials not manufactured by us extends (as far as we can influence it) to the procurement of raw materials, to the consideration of the materials extraction or production methods, and the evaluation of their transport.

With regard to measures for risk avoidance and/or the realisation of opportunities, taking into account applicable laws and legal provisions, it is assumed that economically viable alternatives are available.

Physical scope of application:

The physical limits of the area of application for the products we manufacture ourselves are our site limits. In the case of trading goods or materials not manufactured by us and taking into account legal and official regulations, the scope of application is limited to the consideration of processes that take place within our physical limits or to processes from the point in time at which the product is used to its legally compliant disposal at our premises or at our customer’s premises.
